Col de la Colombière from Scionzier

 

A legendary ascent in the Haute-Savoie, allowing to reach and ride alongside the spectacular Aravis range.

 

The road is famous for its hairpin turns and high-alpine scenery, making it a bucket-list climb for any serious cyclist. It connects the Arve Valley to Le Grand-Bornand, offering dramatic limestone cliff views that define the region's raw beauty.

 

It is a Tour de France favorite since it has seen 23 editions, the most recent being in 2021, during the 8th Oyonnax to Le-Grand-Bornand Stage. To get to Scionzier, the start of the climb, from Annemasse, get a 50 minutes train to Cluses and then a small 10 minutes ride from there.

This high-altitude pass is closed in Winter, from November to the middle of May.
